The continuous act of disclosing yourself to others is a treacherous process. You’re hesitant. There’s so much at stake. Everything, actually. We do it anyway, again and again. Where are you and where do I begin?
BETWEEN THE TWO OF US presents film and video works that explore personal spaces, negotiate boundaries, share moments of intimacy and reveal relationships – balancing the thin line between closeness and autonomy, attraction and moving apart.Eléonore Joulin (Brussels, BE), born in 1987, she graduated from Ecole Superieure des Arts Decoratifs de Strasbourg in 2011. A French artist working on virtual community, she lives and works in Brussels.Natasja Loutchko (Berlin, DE) was born 1983 in Sweden. She graduated with a Meisterschüler from Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste Städelschule from the class of Douglas Gordon in 2014. She lives and works between Sparreholm, Sweden and Berlin.Mitra Saboury (London, UK) completed her MFA at Goldsmiths and her BS in neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh. She is interested in the built environment and human behavior.
soft bite (Chiara Galimberti & Brian Weza) (Chicago, USA) is a collaborative duo based comprised of Chiara Galimberti and Brian Weza. soft bite uses video, sound, and performance as mediums. Galimberti has earned an MA in Italian Studies from NYU in 2015 and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012. Her drawings, installations and collaborative performances tend to be context and place specific rather than self-referential. She is a member of the feminist art collectives W.I.T.C.H and Tracers. Brian Weza is a musician and writer. He has played in a number of punk bands for the past decade and is the co-founder of Athletic Tapes, a DIY cassette label out of Chicago. He is currently studying creative writing at the University of Illinois Chicago.
